Eric Butt

Eric Butt – Design Engineer

Eric has over 10 years of experience in the design and development of consumer products. He has design experience using both SolidWorks and AutoCAD. He is a mechanical engineer with a "hands-on" approach who brings a broad and varied design experience and strong communication skills.

Jeff Ransden

Jeff Ransden – Senior Design Engineer

Jeff has a decade of experience in developing and marketing consumer products. He has worked on many catheter and minimally invasive devices that require metal, plastic, and extruded components. He is a mechanical engineer who has broad design experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for the way things work.

Joel Helfer

Joel Helfer – Senior Electrical Engineer

Joel has comprehensive experience utilizing his electrical and biomedical engineering background in the design and commercialization of a diverse range of products, such as intra-aortic balloons, neonatal monitors, EKG electrodes, electrophoresis equipment and optical laboratory systems. Joel was the manager of engineering at Kodak Molecular Imaging Systems and was a founder of CAS Medical Systems.

Alan Bachman

Alan Bachman – Senior Design Engineer

Alan's combination of industrial design and mechanical engineering training give him a unique perspective in device design. As a major contributor to Synectic's concept studies, Alan can create a large portfolio of alternative concepts which focus on clinical requirements, patient benefit, engineering simplicity and user ergonomics. Alan has developed many devices from a white sheet of paper into production.

Vinny Mata

Vinny Mata – Senior Design Engineer

Vinny has a diverse product development background with experience in spine arthroplasty instrumentation and surgical stapling. His in-depth knowledge of design, development and process engineering from product inception to completion allow him to analyze problems, recommend creative solutions and implement plans to achieve objectives. Vinny managed a manufacturing engineering group at a start up spine company prior to joining Synectic. He has a vast knowledge about stainless steel materials, titanium and laser welding.

Ray Adams

Ray Adams – Senior Design Engineer

Ray has an extensive background in the development of successfully implemented surgical instruments and health care devices. He has extensive experience in plastic injection molding and assembly machine design. Responsibilities encompass all product development phases from concept generation through pilot production. Ray was valedictorian of his engineering class.
