    Adam is actively involved in all phases of Synectic’s product development process, from concept creation through design for manufacturing. This includes project planning, resource management and client communication. Adam has significant experience working in the general and laparoscopic surgery and wound closure markets, through US Surgical and other start-up companies.

    Jeff has a decade of experience in developing and marketing consumer products. He has worked on many catheter and minimally invasive devices that require metal, plastic, and extruded components. He is a mechanical engineer who has broad design experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for the way things work.

    John brings over 30 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. He is responsible for the day to day accounting activities and reporting at Synectic.

    Senior Design Engineer

    Alan’s combination of industrial design and mechanical engineering training give him a unique perspective in device design. As a major contributor to Synectic’s concept studies, Alan can create a large portfolio of alternative concepts which focus on clinical requirements, patient benefit, engineering simplicity and user ergonomics. Alan has developed many devices from a white sheet of paper into production.

    Ray has an extensive background in the development of successfully implemented surgical instruments and health care devices. He has extensive experience in plastic injection molding and assembly machine design. Responsibilities encompass all product development phases from concept generation through pilot production. Ray was valedictorian of his engineering class.

    Joe has 38 years experience in the engineering field.  He is experienced in product development from conceptualization through production including 3d design, concept exploration, bread boarding, design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA), 2d documentation, prototype builds, pilot builds and full production.  He has been involved in development of assembly tooling, fixturing and process flow. He has experience in a broad scope of industries including medical devices, electro mechanical devices, power tools, hand tools and a wide variety of consumer products.

    Senior Design Engineer

    Jeff is a Mechanical Engineer with a lifetime of experience in mechanics and mechanisms. An early background in bicycles, small engines, and motorcycles fueled his curiosity to pursue a BSME to bolster life experience with theoretical understanding.  Over the past 32 years with extensive accomplishments in creativity, innovation, and design, he has developed an ever present focus on customer requirements. In addition to design engineering and problem solving, Jeff has gained an intimate knowledge of fabrication process via various manufacturing engineering positions. Jeff’s responsibilities include refining device designs to improve their manufacturability and turning them into a salable product.

    Jesse Dlugos

    Design Engineer

    Jesse is a mechanical engineer with a concentration in mechanics of materials and kinematics from the University of Connecticut. He has several years of experience in structural design, analysis, finite element modeling and validation in the aerospace industry. Paired with his knowledge of automotive fabrication and repair this allows him to quickly generate breadboard and prototype models along with perform the necessary trouble shooting, bench testing , and analysis. Jesse excells at optimizing mechanical designs through vector mechanics.

    Design Engineer

    Julie’s considerable bench testing experience combined with her biomedical and materials engineering training gives her a valuable edge in device design and troubleshooting. Her project history includes minimally invasive surgical devices, implants, cardiovascular catheters and capital equipment, as well as some Class II medical devices. Her responsibilities span all product development phases from concept generation through ex-vivo bench testing, transfer to production and validation testing.

    Amanda holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science degree in Engineering and Operations Management at University of New Haven. Her strict adherence to our Quality system and her attention to detail have played a key role in the successful implementation of the pilot and small run production area here at Synectic. Amanda is involved in many areas of engineering at Synectic utilizing the latest technologies to design, prototype and test new medical device concepts for our clients.  These attributes, along with her documentation skills are a valuable asset to the Synectic team. In her spare time Amanda enjoys teaching swim lessons to special needs adults and children.

    Mac McMurray

    Director of Business Development

    Mac is responsible for focusing on new business opportunities and customer relations. Prior to Synectic, he was a minimally invasive spine product manager for Aesculap Implant Systems, and he also worked in sales and product management of craniofacial and maxillofacial products with Biomet Microfixation.
